Summer Food Service Program

Summer Food Service Program

The Summer Food Service Program Stresses the importance of offering nutritious meals to children during the summer months. The Elkhorn Area School District announces the sponsorship of the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). This summer, the Elkhorn Area Middle School will be serving free meals during summer school. Meals are provided to children regardless of race, color, national origin, age, gender or disability and there’ll be no discrimination in the course of meal service. To accommodate this opportunity for our students, buses will leave the MS at 12:30 after Summer Academy classes.

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), which is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) provides nutritious meals to children during the summer, when free and reduced-price school meals are typically unavailable. Free meals will be made available to children 18 years of age and under between 12:00 pm and 12:45 pm. The menu will be posted later in May on the food service website.
